About BYU Vocal Point

Vocal Point creates complex music and rhythms with only 9 voices. They have percussion without drums. They have a rhythm section without a bass. The only instruments on stage belong to the nine voices of the nationally renowned a cappella group Vocal Point. From Brigham Young University, Vocal Point captures faithful audiences throughout the world with their stunning, high-energy performances and their elaborate, cinematographic music videos.

With a wide range of vocal possibilities—and seeming impossibilities—these crowd-pleasers have it all: rock, pop, country, jazz, and R&B that makes their family-friendly concerts a showstopper. This nine-man group takes the songs you are familiar with, retools them and delivers a new rendition, complete with all the complex instrumentation done entirely with their mouths. Each Vocal Point member displays musical ability, creativity, and stage experience—a combination which adds up to original, skillful, and spirited per read more...

About Nat Geo Live!

Sometimes a little distance is all you need to see things from a new perspective. Astronaut TERRY VIRTS gained his vision from the International Space Station (ISS), where he installed a camera called the Cupola Module, granting an unprecedented 360-degree view from the station. When he later became the commander of the ISS, he made good use of the Cupola, taking more photographs than any previous astronaut. Many of those images were later used in the National Geographic book View From Above and the IMAX film A Beautiful Planet. In Terry’s words, “No photo can capture the perfect shade of blue from a sunrise viewed from outer space,” but we think this is as close as it gets!

About Nat Geo Live!

“We found an entire lost world; a window on a moment of major evolutionary change.”—Nizar Ibrahim

Meet the Spinosaurus! It’s the largest predatory dinosaur to recently be discovered (larger than T-Rex) and was almost lost to science before NIZAR IBRAHIM, a remarkable young paleontologist, discovered this prehistoric giant.

More than half a century ago in Morocco, the great German paleontologist Ernst Stromer discovered that Spinosaurus’ fossil remains were lost in the Allied bombing of Germany during World War II. With the help of recent fossil discoveries in the desert, and Stromer’s own data and drawings, contemporary scientists including paleontologist and National Geographic Emerging Explorer Nizar Ibrahim have reconstructed a full skeletal model of Spinosaurus, which has been featured on the National Geographic Channel and presented in the National Geographic Museum.

With amazing video and photography, Nizar will tell the story of the Spinosau read more...
